O2SL & QRT National’s Mike Botieri Talks with Tony LeGreca on ‘Courage to Hope’ Podcast

BOSTON — Operation 2 Save Lives (O2SL) & QRT National Vice President of Business Development Mike Botieri recently joined the “Courage to Hope” podcast with Tony LeGreca on WMEX 1050 AM.

Botieri spoke with LeGreca about his former career in law enforcement with the Plymouth Police Department and the department’s efforts in providing those with substance use disorder with the necessary resources.

Botieri created the Street Crimes Unit in Plymouth in 2014, which was created to respond to quality of life issues, and evolved to a team that followed up with overdose victims to connect them with treatment resources and services. This led to a collaboration with former East Bridgewater Police Chief Scott Allen on a drop-in center initiative.

Botieri brought his experience working with those with substance use disorder to his work at O2SL & QRT National following his retirement from the Plymouth Police Department in 2021. O2SL & QRT National currently works in over a dozen states to train first responders and community partners on assisting vulnerable populations impacted directly and indirectly by substance use disorder, as well as offers products to evaluate community efforts.

“I am grateful to Tony for having me on the show and giving me the opportunity to share more about O2SL & QRT National’s work with communities across the country,” Botieri said. “Tony has shown great support and care to those affected by substance use disorder. It’s important to raise awareness of the modern strategies and practices that are making an impact in communities and I enjoyed our conversation.”

The “Courage to Hope” podcast was created by LeGreca, who lost his son to the opioid epidemic in 2014. After witnessing the power of grief groups through many years as a facilitator, LeGreca began the podcast to help others who have lost loved ones to opioids.
