The leadership team of Operation 2 Save Lives (O2SL) & QRT National is pleased to share that members recently represented the organization as a vendor at the 2024 National Rx & Illicit Drug Summit in Atlanta earlier this month.

The Summit event was held April 1-4. O2SL & QRT National shared a vendor booth with partner Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative (PAARI), alongside partner Cordata Healthcare.

The summit is the largest national collaboration of professionals from local, state, and federal agencies, businesses, academia, treatment providers, and allied communities impacted by prescription drug misuse and illicit drug use.

The event featured many speakers and presentations on topics including clinical decision making, youth overdose prevention, addressing addiction, early warning signs of drug abuse, stigma reduction, treatment and recovery, technology and data sharing, and more. Overall, the event brings together stakeholders to discuss what’s working in prevention and treatment.

“We really enjoyed this year’s summit,” said Vice President of Business Development Mike Botieri. “It’s great to see the different presentations and meet experts in the field.”

The Summit began in 2012 under the leadership of Operation UNITE and U.S. Rep. Harold “Hal” Rogers of Kentucky. Rep. Rogers created Operation UNITE (Unlawful Narcotics Investigations, Treatment and Education, Inc.) in 2003.

UNITE is a collaborative model striving to prevent abuse of drugs and facilitate recovery by creating strategic partnerships, providing leadership, promoting education, coordinating treatment, and supporting law enforcement. UNITE serves a 32-county region in southern and eastern Kentucky.
