Mike Owens

Trainer and Consultant
Mike Owens is a retired law enforcement executive from Colerain Township, Ohio. His community service spans more than twenty-five years, beginning as a police explorer and then as a civilian clerk for his local police department. After graduation from the police academy, Mike was hired as a police officer for the Colerain Police Department in Southwest Ohio. Mike worked through the department ranks before retiring as a Colerain Police Department Division “Commander.”

Mike spent much of his career as a law enforcement trainer, specializing in response to aggressive behavior, de-escalation, self-defense, and a winning mindset. Mike was always willing to take the time to share the “lessons learned” and skills with others so officers and firefighters had confidence in themselves to perform on a “day-to-day” basis, a challenging job. Mike was a newly promoted Command officer with the Police Department and assisted with implementing the Colerain Township’s Quick Response Team (QRT) program.

Mike graduated from Tiffin University with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice. He graduated recently from the University of Cincinnati with his master’s degree in Criminal Justice.

Mike’s passion throughout his life has been to serve and help others. Early in his life, Mike learned that he could help others build their confidence by sharing his skills and experiences. Mike is a person with lived trauma and substance use disorder, and by sharing his journey, he hopes to help whoever may be in need. He desires to help others “live their best life!”
