WOONSOCKET, RI – On April 1st and 2nd, over 60 local leaders, service providers, and public safety professionals gathered at Millrace on South Main Street to participate in a transformative two-day Situation Table training. Delivered by Cordata’s Operation Save Lives (O2SL) and QRT National, the training marked the latest step in Rhode Island’s innovative approach to enhancing community safety and health outcomes. The Situation Table is a rapid-response, multidisciplinary intervention model designed to address individuals and families facing acutely elevated risk (AER). Originally launched in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, in 2011 by the Global Network for Community Safety, the model has since expanded to over 160 sites across Canada and more than 30 sites in the United States. Woonsocket is now the second Rhode Island community to implement a Situation Table, following Newport-Middletown earlier this year. Chicopee Launches Situation Table to Enhance Community Safety and Well-Being
Chicopee, MA – March 5, 2025—Chicopee, Massachusetts, will be launching the Situation Table on (Thursday) March 13, 2025, a groundbreaking initiative to enhance community safety and well-being. This innovative program, funded through opioid abatement funds, emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to addressing complex social challenges. On February 19-20, 2025, thirty-two professionals from nineteen agencies, including law enforcement, behavioral health providers, social service organizations, and community groups, convened at Chicopee Police Department Headquarters for the 2-Day Situation Table Training. Key agencies included the Chicopee Police, Chicopee Public Schools, Veterans Affairs, Gandara Mental Health Center, Clergy, River Valley Counseling Center, Valley Opportunity Council, and the Mayor’s Office. Newport and Middletown Launch Joint Situation Table to Enhance Community Safety and Well-Being
Newport, RI – January 27, 2025—Newport and Middletown, Rhode Island, have partnered to establish the state’s first-ever Situation Table, a groundbreaking initiative to enhance community safety and well-being. This innovative program, funded through opioid abatement funds, emphasizes a multidisciplinary approach to addressing complex social challenges. On January 14-15, 2025, 45 professionals from 25 agencies—including law enforcement, behavioral health providers, social service organizations, and community groups, convened at Newport County Community College for the Newport and Middletown Situation Table Training. Congratulations to Corvallis-Benton County Situation Table on Their One Year Anniversary
O2SL & QRT National and Cordata would like to congratulate Corvallis-Benton County Situation Table in Oregon on their one-year anniversary addressing situations within the community where individuals and families are at acutely elevated risk and require the combined support from multiple human service agencies. We are deeply honored to have been able to witness the growth and dedicated efforts of the Corvallis-Benton County Situation Table team, led by Captain Joel Goodwin and Dan Easdale and comprised of over twenty-five local agencies. This amazing team has been able to provide support and services to seventy people, both individuals and families, facing a variety of risk factors which include homelessness, mental health, physical health, and substance use struggles. This team should also be commended for their efforts in facilitating the onboarding of and providing mentorship to the Albany-Linn County Situation Table team, which launched in November 2024.
