On June 12, 2025, the Stamford Police Department hosted the Connecticut CLEAR Deflection Summit, bringing together law enforcement, behavioral health, recovery specialists, and community partners — all committed to one goal: offering help instead of handcuffs.

Across the country, deflection and Situation Tables are becoming critical tools in public safety and public health:
🔹 Montana – Angel Initiative: walk in, ask for help — no questions, no charges.
🔹 Ohio – Colerain Township: launched the nation’s first QRT (Quick Response Team).
🔹 Vermont – Situation Tables: fast, cross-agency collaboration for people at acute risk.
🔹 Kentucky – Communities are embedding deflection and situation tables simultaneously to reduce overdoses and system strain.
🔹 Rhode Island – Fire/EMS-led Situation Tables are leading frontline intervention.
🔹 New York – Chautauqua County combines both deflection and a Situation Table.
🔹 Nebraska – Panhandle Health District’s Situation Table is a national MODEL practice.
🔹 Oregon – Corvallis’s Situation Table is recognized nationally for innovation.
🔹 Massachusetts – Scaling Outreach Initiatives and Situation Tables statewide.
